Two presentations and accompanying handouts for beginners of French. Covers greetings and the alphabet. We use it to accompany the Accès Studio course, but the resources are suitable for all beginners.

This is a lesson I prepared to review the German present tense on the theme of free time activities. It can be used to accompany the Echo courses. It begins with a brain teaser (in German of course) to practise word association. Then present tense phrases are introduced. You can show the vocabulary more than once before asking the class to practise their memory skills. There is a verb drill and a brief reminder of how to form the present tense. There are reading and speaking exercises. Mention is also made of stem changing verbs (lesen/fahren/sehen).

This role play board game is a fun way to prepare for speaking examinations (particularly the new GCSE). It can be used for any language too. Make A3 colour copies and laminate them. You will need dice and counters. There are rules attached. Very good for independent learning, encouraging spontaneous speaking (group talk) and GCSE revision.

Introduction to the regular present tense. A short starter activity matching subject pronouns, followed by the presentation of the three main groups of regular verbs and their endings. There is a short conjugation exercise for each group of verbs and printable blank verb flowers too.

This is a vocabulary mark book for test results (we use it for grammar and vocabulary tests but it can be used for any subject) which can monitor test results, retests and ranks the class for each test to encourage competition. I have included instructions on how to use the tracker. The file is protected to stop people from erasing formulae but the password is MFL. If you come up with a great update - do let me know.
